Summer Fun Continues!

Although school starts in August (and many parents can’t wait for the yellow bus to come) summer lasts until September 22. Here are some great adventures to enjoy with your family:

  • Connect with nature at the Cleveland Botanical Garden's Hershey Children's Garden! It’s a magical place of flower and vegetable gardens with kid-size signs, gates and fences. Fun features include a wheelchair-accessible treehouse, a cave, worm bins, a watery bog, a scrounger's garden…and big red "farmhouse" pumps. Print out a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Friday Coupon (good until September 3, 2010).
  • Encounter life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar at DINOSAURS! at the Cleveland Zoo until 9/12. It’s just $1 per person with regular Zoo admission and free for Zoo members and children under 2.
  • Take a Train Ride! Hop aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and explore from the comfort of a vintage train car. You can hop off to hike – or even bike – along the Ohio & Erie Towpath Trail or stop for lunch along the route. Another option is the Ashtabula, Carson & Jefferson Scenic Railway (weekends through October) offering themed adventures like Wild West Weekend or Bandit Hold-Up Train.

Upcoming events NOT TO BE MISSED!

Summer Highlights & Pictures

  • Let My People Grow’s 1st Birthday Party was ADORABLE!!! 300 people (nearly half in diapers) jammed to kid-friendly and parent-pleasing musician Eric Maring, splashed in The Mandel JCC's awesome new Sprayground, played with sand, built with Legos, squished Play-Doh, slurped Popsicles, noshed on Cheerios, devoured birthday cake, enjoyed a gorgeous Cleveland morning and celebrated Let My People Grow's 1st Birthday! Cleveland's future is looking bright – and so cute!!! Check out the pictures we took and see photos taken by Jonathan Koslen of New Image Photography.
  • Rick Recht Rocked! Rick Recht, the top touring Jewish musician, was joined by dozens of Cleveland kids on August 22 at the Mandel JCC. A pre-concert picnic sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Young Leadership Division included tattoos, hair-sprayed hairdos and a fabulous performance by Playmakers Youth Theater. Check out the pics!
  • Moms 2 B in the C-L-E (for Jewish Ladies with a Brisket in the Oven) was born on July 25. Share information (info@letmypeopleknowcleveland.com) about your pregnant friends and we’ll help connect them to great resources and future events.
