Happy 2010!
Welcome to the second edition of the Let My People Knowsletter, brought to you by the team at Strengthening & Growing Jewish Cleveland, a project of the Jewish Community Federation. We're here, online and in person, to provide information and resources to help you live, play, prosper and CONNECT in Jewish (and not-so-Jewish) Cleveland. If you're getting this Knowsletter, you're most likely a parent with ties to Cleveland. We hope to strengthen those ties and help build a more caring and connected community for you and your family. Tell us what you like, love, prefer not, or want to see in future LMPK Knowsletters.

Read about the Rogens
They didn't leave LA and move to Cleveland for the weather, but Bruce, Christine, Jack and Lily are convinced that living in Cleveland is better! A fantastic opportunity at the Cleveland Clinic for a Shaker Heights native, and family ties brought the Rogens here last February… and they're loving it. “We've done more in 11 months in Cleveland than in 11 years in LA!” Read more.

The PJ Library® FREE Jewish Bedtime Stories & Songs for Families
Read what PJ Parents – Jon & Stacy Stoller – have to say about FREE, high-quality books and CDs their kids receive each month.
“We love the high-quality PJ Library books delivered to our door every month. Cameron's (age 6 ½) favorite book is Across the Alley, and Alec's (age 4 ½) is A Tale of Two Mountains. The PJ Library books have led to meaningful family discussions on racism, Shabbat, treating others kindly, sports, music and all sorts of Jewish values. The rich text and details of the books allow us to work with Cameron and Alec on comprehension, prediction and inferences, something difficult to do with your average picture book. We wish PJ Library didn't end at age 7!”
(For kids ages 6 months – 7 years, register today!)
Let My People Grow
New arrival? We’ve got a gift for that!
Do you know of a growing Jewish family? Let us know and we’ll connect them to the joys of Jewish Cleveland (even if they're not living here now), and give them a few gifts for the baby as well! Register online or call 216.566.9200, ext. 213.
Let My People Grow is a new program of the Federation's Strengthening & Growing initiative to welcome new babies to Jewish Cleveland.
Check out Jewish Early Childhood Programs for September 2010!
January is an ideal time to meet the warm and caring staff in our community's Jewish early childhood programs. We strongly encourage you to visit the programs in person, and to get a quick education. See an apples-to-apples view of each program for the current school year. Registration for the next school year is open now and space is limited.
If your child is in kindergarten or elementary school, we have some options for you, too.
Holiday Hints & How-To's: Tu B'Shevat
Even though the trees in Cleveland are bare and snow covers the ground, Tu B'Shevat (January 30) is a holiday for Jews around the world to say thanks for the gifts we receive from trees and our environment. It’s also a great time for families to focus on enjoying nature and protecting our environment. Check out some kid-friendly ideas.
