Where's Hot in Cleveland

 Coventry Village is a funky and unique area of Cleveland Heights. From the retro and eclectic shops like Big Fun and Record Revolution, to the psychedelic tie-dye street signs, the Hade- Ashbury feel of Coventry attracts many college students. Coventry offers an exciting night life with popular places like B-Side Bar, The Grog Shop, Panini’s, and City and East. Coventry is filled with exceptional food and drink with restaurants like Tommy’s, Phoenix Coffee, and Mint Café. Coventry also offers a summer-time event, The Coventry Street Fair, which showcases many interesting vendors and artists.

Little Italy is the place to go for great Italian food and wonderful art! Grab gelato at the famous Presti’s Bakery, or dig in to homemade pizzas and pastas at the local favorite Mama Santa’s. If you’re in the mood to splurge on a great meal, head to Michaelangelo’s for unique Italian dishes. Little Italy also offers many interesting art galleries such as Penello Gallery and Galleria Quetzal. Little Italy is a popular living area for not only families, but for undergraduate and graduate students attending college or graduate school in Cleveland.

East 4th street is one of the many trendy areas of downtown Cleveland. East 4th street offers great entertainment and a number of  the best restaurants by some of Cleveland’s famous chefs. The Corner Alley bowling alley takes bowling to a whole new level. With its sleek interior design, and extensive martini menu, the 16 lane bowling alley is a hot spot for young people. After a bowling, go see a show at the House of Blues, or dine at one of East 4th streets delicious restaurants. Restaurants on East 4th Street include Michael Symon’s, Lola, Zach Bruell’s, Chinato, and best new chef of 2010, Jonathon Sawyer’s, The Greenhouse Tavern.

West 6th street is a vibrant area of downtown that offers many restaurants and popular bars. Restaurants like Sushi Rock, Crop Bistro, XO Prime Steak, and Metro provide fine food and unique dinning experiences. West 6th street is a popular place to bar hop as well. You can find many young people at The Blind Pig, Velvet Dog, Dive Bar, and Spy Bar, just to name a few of the many bars on West 6th Street. Its all about having a good time on West 6th!

Ohio City is one of the oldest and most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in Cleveland. It is also home to one of Cleveland’s most beloved attractions, The West Side Market. The West Side Market has over 100 vendors offering everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, to delicious homemade crepes and authentic Vietnamese cuisine. It is truly a unique experience to walk around and look at what each vendor offers. Ohio City also has many great restaurants and clubs. The Flying Fig, Great Lakes Brewing Co., and Momocho, are just some of the amazing dining opportunities in Ohio City. Bar Cento, and Bounce/ Union Station Video Café are also popular places to drink, dance, and have a great time!

One of the many perks of being in downtown Cleveland is Lake Erie! North Coast Harbor is a beautiful area of downtown and has a few of the big local attractions including The Great Lakes Science Center, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Brown’s Stadium. Take a ride on the Goodtime III excursion ship, or just sit on the pier and watch the boats! In the summer, North Coast Harbor also hosts the Boating and Fishing Fest, as well as The Tall Ships Festival, both great summer time activities!

The only bad thing about Tremont is…You’ll never want to leave! Tremont is a wonderful mix of old and new, and a hot place to spot young people living in Cleveland. Tremont is home to some of Cleveland’s finest dining. Zach Bruell’s, Parallax, Rocco Whalen’s, Fahrenheit, and Michael Symon’s, Lolita, are some of the many restaurants in Tremont that are taking food to a whole other level. Enjoy handmade chocolates like you have never had before from Lilly Handmade Chocolate,or innovate breakfast and lunch items at Lucky’s Café. Tremont also hosts many art galleries as well as boutiques. Find great art at Picadilly’s Fine Art Gallery, or the latest fashion trends at Banyan Tree. The old houses and churches located in Tremont make for beautiful and interesting architecture that visitors can explore.

The Gordon Square Art District is home to two of the many performance theaters in Cleveland, The Cleveland Public Theatre, and the Near West Theatre. Check out great performance at both! Want a unique movie viewing experience? Go to The Capitol Theatre! Grab one of Cleveland’s best hot dogs, and a drink, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! The Gordon Square Art district also had great shops and restaurants. Shop at Room Service, a boutique that offers unique clothing, jewelry, and other accessories, or eat at the popular restaurant Luxe. The Detroit Shoreway is a neighborhood in the art district that overlooks the beautiful Edgewater State Park, and Lake Erie.

The Gateway District is the place to be to check out the latest in Cleveland sports. Go to an Indians baseball game at Progressive Field, or check out the Cleveland Cavilers at Quicken Loans Arena. The Gateway district has great dining as well, which includes East 4th street. Panini’s and the Clevelander Bar and Grill are popular pre-sports game hangouts where you can find Cleveland fans having a great time.

 University Circle is truly a beautiful area of Cleveland. What makes this area so special is Case Western Reserve University, which has buildings that are some of the most striking architecture in Cleveland. The Botanical Gardens , a true treasure in Cleveland, is a great place to visit on a sunny day. University Circle also has great dining, including Zach Bruell’s restaurants, Table 45 and L’Albotros Brasserie and Bar, and other wonderful dining like Sergio’s in University Circle. Wade Oval Wednesday, better known as “WOW” is a great summer time activity. Every Wednesday night in the summer, Wade Oval is filled with people of all ages to listen to local artists, sit outside, enjoy the weather, and eat at the vendors featured at Wade Oval. This is a wonderful area where you can find many young people and college students dining and hanging out!
